Adjusting security profile permissions

Learn how to check a user's current security profile and update the permissions in a security profile using DPSSQLConfig.

⚠️ Important: You must have DPS supervisor permissions to check or update security profile permissions.


Check a User's Security Profile

  1. Login to the hosted desktop and open DPSSQLConfig.

  2. Enter your DPS supervisor credentials, then sign in.

  3. Click the Users and Groups tab in the bottom-left corner.

  4. Make sure you are in the Users section in the top-left corner.

  5. Find the user, then double-click their entry.

  6. Review the user's assigned security profile, then make a note of it before you continue.


Update a Security Profile's Permissions

  1. Open DPSSQLConfig.

  2. Enter your DPS supervisor credentials, then sign in.

  3. Click the Users and Groups tab in the bottom-left corner.

  4. Click the Security Profiles tab in the top-left corner.

  5. Select the correct profile from the Security Profile Name dropdown list.

  6. Tick the Status for the access levels you want to change.

  7. Click Save in the bottom-right corner.

  • Check the user's current security profile before making any changes so you update the correct profile.

  • Review the access levels carefully before you click Save to avoid applying unintended permission changes.

  • Only change permissions that are required for the user's role.
