We're pleased to announce the latest release of Access Legal Case Management, Version 2.16.7.

This update includes various enhancements and bug fixes detailed below. A PDF copy of the release notes can also be found here.

Opportunities: Client Name Missing in Pending Opportunities (Conveyancing)

When creating a Sale or Purchase conveyancing opportunity, the Client Name could intermittently fail to display in the Pending Opportunities section. This prevented users from opening the case, requiring a manual workaround of tabbing through form fields to force the name to populate.

When a contact's Short Name was left empty, the system failed to fall back on the contact's other name details, causing the client name to disappear from the opportunity listing.

The system now checks the Short Name value first, and if it is empty or not set, automatically falls back to the contact's existing name details to populate the Client Name correctly. The manual workaround is no longer required.

Matter Ledger Card – Date Range Filter Now Applied on Print

When a date range filter was applied to the Matter Ledger Card transaction view, clicking the Print button would ignore the filter and print the full transaction history instead of only the filtered transactions visible on screen.

The print function now correctly respects any date range filter applied to the Matter Ledger Card. When you apply a date filter and click Print, the printed output will show only the transactions matching your selected date range, consistent with what is displayed on screen.

All users who use the Matter Ledger Card print functionality with date range filters applied.

Template fonts now preserved when editing via Online Word

Previously, when ALCM was configured to use Microsoft Word Online, opening a template for editing via the pencil icon would cause the font to revert to Times New Roman, regardless of the font defined within the template (e.g. Arial). This affected the visual presentation of templates during editing, though the issue was specific to the Online Word editing route.

This has been resolved. The document conversion process has been updated to correctly pick up server-installed fonts when converting templates to .docx format, ensuring the original font settings defined in the template are fully preserved. Templates will now display the correct font whether opened via Online Word or Desktop Word.

PDF Page Format Preserved When Running Workflow Items

Previously, running a workflow item on a document template with a non-A4 page layout (such as square, legal, or letter formats) would incorrectly convert the page to A4 size. This affected all templates using a non-standard page format.

This has been resolved. Workflow items now correctly preserve the original page dimensions of the template, ensuring documents are generated in their intended format.
