We're pleased to announce the latest release of Access Legal Case Management, Version 2.16.3.
This update includes various enhancements and bug fixes detailed below. A PDF copy of the release notes can also be found here.
Ledger Card Print β DDA Transactions & Balance Correction
The printed Ledger Card now correctly includes all DDA transactions (DCR, DDR, DTC, CTD) regardless of whether the Show DDA toggle is enabled on screen.
Previously, leaving the toggle off caused DDA transactions to be excluded from the print output, resulting in incorrect DDA balances that did not match the on-screen Ledger Card.
Additionally, a separate issue causing expense (EXP) rows to appear twice in the printed output has been resolved.
Client Search β Live Matters Count Corrected
The "Live Matters" column in the Client Search results was incorrectly displaying the total number of matters for a client, rather than the count of live (active) matters only.
This has been resolved β the column now accurately reflects the number of live matters associated with each client.
Default User and Searchable Dropdown
Previously, the Authorisations screen defaulted to All Users instead of the currently logged-in user, requiring users to manually locate themselves each time.
The Users dropdown now defaults to the current logged-in user when opening the Authorisations screen.
Additionally, the Users dropdown is now searchable, allowing users to quickly locate any user by typing their user code or name.
Date Entry with Dot Separators Now Handled Correctly
Dates entered using dot separators (e.g., 01.09.1990) on the client information screen were being incorrectly saved in American format (M/D/Y), reversing the day and month without any warning.
For example, 1st September 1990 would be stored as 9th January 1990.
This has been resolved. Dot-separated dates are now recognised and parsed correctly in day/month/year format, consistent with other supported date formats.
Matter Details Field β Character Limit Increased to 300
Length guards have been added to the Matter Details field to prevent HTTP 500 errors occurring when the details entered exceed 250 characters. Users can now enter up to 300 characters without error.
Send Button No Longer Obscured in MyLegalSpace
The Send button in the MyLegalSpace compose area was being overlapped by the Intercom Digital Assistant launcher, requiring users to press Enter as a workaround. This has been resolved β the compose message bar now has additional right padding, ensuring the Send button is always fully visible and accessible.
New Fee Codes for Crown Court Prescribed Proceedings (Effective 22 December 2025)
Two new fee codes have been introduced for Crime Lower work to support billing via the LAA's online SaBC system when uploading CDS6 monthly bills.
For Representation Orders dated on or after 22 December 2025, Crown Court Prescribed Proceedings are now split into two distinct fee codes reflecting different hourly rates:
PROH1 β Prescribed proceedings appeals from the Magistrates' Court
PROH2 β Crown Court prescribed proceedings other than appeals from the Magistrates' Court
The Stage Reached code on the CDS6 remains PROH. The fee code reported will be PROH, PROH1, or PROH2 depending on the representation order date and proceeding type. Representation Orders dated before 22 December 2025 continue to use the existing PROH fee code.
