For Crime cases it is often necessary to be able to look for a matter by its UFN, as matter numbers are not provided by the Legal Aid Agency.

To set UFN as a search criteria follow these steps

  1. Open a crime matter.

  2. Click on View Workflow.

  3. Edit the file label by clicking on the pen.

  4. Put a tick in the UFN box.

  5. Click Field Properties.

  6. Look at the bottom right, and the Search Field box should be ticked.

  7. Click on the green floppy disc at the top of the screen to save the changes.

  8. Click OK to save screen design changes.

  9. Click No to the next screen.

  10. Click the red cross to exit the screen.

Note: You will only need to do this once to make the UFN a search field for all crime matters.

  1. Click the Matter/Case tab on the left.

  2. Click the 3 dots and select Advanced Search.

  3. Make sure the work type is CR: Crime.

  4. In the Search Case box enter the URN and click the magnifying glass to search.

  5. The matter will display in the box below.
